In the quiet cycles of the full moon, I attempted to rediscover photography in its most elemental form. Without a camera or traditional lens—using only moonlight and photographic paper—each image emerged as a direct imprint of the night.
This exploration stripped away expectations, resulting in images free of subject or narrative. They exist as simple visceral abstractions, shaped only by the unpredictability of light. The images are both inviting and elusive, drawing viewers into a space where the absence of recognizable forms becomes a consideration of something larger: the raw, unmediated relationship between light and matter.
By embracing uncertainty and relinquishing control, I aimed to reduce photography to its core—a physical imprint of the universe, minimally influenced by human intervention but deeply tied to a shared human experience. Nocturnal Light invites viewers to engage with this duality, to embrace the beauty and challenge of letting go, and to see the world anew through the simple, essential language of light.
