Bjorn Iooss, born and raised in New York, graduated with a BFA in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design. Growing up immersed in the arts—his father a renowned sports photographer and his mother a painter—Bjorn developed a deep appreciation for analog image-making early on.

Bjorn’s photographs convey a sense of personal intimacy with his subjects, with a balanced emphasis on style that bridges the gap between portrait and fashion photography. Despite his consciously pared-back approach, his complex understanding of light and color has enabled him to create a diverse body of work, from studio to on-location, in which the human element is always central.

He currently splits his time between New York and Los Angeles.
